I like this awkward photo with the kitty eye. His name is Loki and he is a Bengal cat. He looks like a baby jungle cat.
Today's topic for Blog Every Day in January is "6 facts about me" for the sixth day of January. So let's just jump right in, shall we?!
1. I am off work today for the brutal ice kingdom that currently is Illinois. So is almost everyone in my house.
2. I am a serious, serious lightweight. I once watered down my beer because it was too much for me. I throw up tequila INSTANTLY. But the two times a year I drink enough to feel something, I spell. I am a drunk speller. You know I had too much Rumchata when I say "Ask me to spell something! Anything! I can do it!" And then...I usually spell it wrong.
3. My family used to own a successful circus. Re-read that if you have to, so you really believe it. Yes, I am descended from circus people. But then my great uncles drank away the fortune. It's too bad, because I think I would have liked being a circus heiress.
4. I saw ghosts as a child. I distinctly remember visiting Vegas with my family when I was 4 (where all the cool 4-year-olds go for Christmas!) and talking to this woman on a barstool. She was dressed in a pink, Victorian-style dress. I was going on and on about the Wizard of Oz, and she smiled and nodded. I remember her perfectly. Here's the thing though...no one in my family saw her. They're convinced I was talking to myself. I have a ton of weird stories like that, and I think that one is actually the least creepy.
5. I was a theatre kid up to freshman year of college. I performed in multiple plays from a very young age, and I was a supporting lead in our high school's performance of "Sabrina." (Which is an Audrey Hepburn movie, by the way. Not the teenage witch, like I originally believed.) I am not the most outgoing of people, but I loved the stage.
6. Michael and Mary Gross are my grandpa's cousins. I have seen them at multiple family functions. Michael Gross has been on Curb Your Enthusiasm, How I Met Your Mother, ER, Tremors, and many more, but his most notable role was Steven Keaton on Family Ties.
Mary Gross has had a ton of little roles, but you may have seen her make an appearance on Hart of Dixie, That's So Raven (Remember the scary babysitter episode? That's her.) Practical Magic, The Santa Clause, and Troop Beverly Hills.
Happy Monday! Stay warm!

It was nice getting to know you more through this post, Heather. These facts about you paint such a colorful portrait. I love the one about the Circus and your grandparent's cousins. You sound like a fun character from a novel :)
ReplyDeleteThat may be one of the best compliments I've ever received! :) Colorful is definitely a good word for my life so far haha. Thanks for stopping by!
