Blog Every Day in January: A Day in the Life

Oops, this one's a day late. But yesterday was a little wild and crazy in its own way, so I decided to postpone it a day. Oh well.

Here it is, my day in the life!

6:15 a.m.: Woke up, fumbled around the room a lot, tried not to wake Tom who stayed home sick today.

7: Left the house to brave some of the perilous roads on my commute. Normally, I get to work at 8:30. But today I arrived at 7:30 to make up for time I missed on Monday's snow day. I ALWAYS eat breakfast, but since I haven't been to the grocery store (thanks polar vortex!) in a week and a half, I didn't even mess with that this morning.

(My world at 7 a.m...the North Pole's midwestern cousin.)

7:30: Arrived at work, where I stay until 2.

(This is the road outside my work...also known as the sheet of ice my car loves to slide all over...)

(This is the lovely view of the Illinois River I see every day out the cafeteria windows. Also...our wedding venue is on this street. We will have a very similar view from there!)

7:45: After filling my mug with hot water for tea, I settled into my desk. I also bought breakfast because I was ravenous. I haven't had produce in awhile, so I DEVOURED those strawberries.

(I am not an organized individual, but I love my mountain desktop wallpaper!)

11:30: Lunch. Like I mentioned, I was clear out of any food that wasn't oatmeal or Chex Mix. So I ate this...

Oatmeal with peanut butter, and some strange "beef" packet I found in the fridge. It was weird.

Selfie to prove I was there? I only wear makeup on the weekends. The only reason? I like to have the freedom to rub my eyes, and I hate removing makeup later. (Read: I am lazy.)

2:30: After work, I finally made it to the grocery store! I had to drive 10 MPH on some roads...and saw a truck driver get very, very upset with me...but I made it home.

After that, things get a little fuzzy. I was supposed to work out today, but I ended up taking a nap, eating a ton of veggie chips and making a smoothie. It was delicious.
Yogurt, spinach, banana, lemon, raspberries and pineapples. Yum!

Added some pomegranates!

And now, we are watching Modern Family and getting ready for bed. Hopefully I can fit in a little time to work on my novel and look through the job listings.

Aaaaand that is my day.

Happy Wednesday!
